Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Dear Sir/Madam,

I’m a 2nd year student in Kinesiology/Health Studies. The course KNPE 251 (Intro to Statistics) appears on my transcript as ‘incomplete’ as I finished the course in the fall semester but missed the final exam in December due to illness. At that time, I provided a note from my doctor and received academic consideration. I was then re-scheduled to write the exam during the deferred exam period (January 18th) but my health condition worsened and I notified the course instructors/professors but received no response. At that time, I tried to apply for academic consideration but the course no longer showed on the system since it was offered only in the fall semester. I sent 3 emails to professors (Dr. Yakimowski and Dr. Fowlie) but I did not receive a reply. I then contacted the KNPE student advisor who tried to contact the professors but also received no reply. Currently, my advisor recommends that I submit a petition as this is a required course for my degree. I am petitioning to receive a final grade in this course. I can provide the previously sent emails and doctors note as needed.
