Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Hello,

I had originally planned to take the ENG 100 course during the summer to boost my Fall/Winter term GPA. However, during the last few months of my study my father unexpectedly lost his job, and it was because of this reason that I decided that I was going to drop out of Queen's University and apply to a university in my home city; Toronto. That way I will be able to save money and be able to pay for my education.

There was no way that I could've attended Queen's in the second year. My father had to pay for both me and my sister's university costs and after carefully planning and calculating every expense, we ended up with the conclusion that I could not afford to study at Queen's.


Therefore, I ask that you accept my request to drop the summer course so that I may send the most updated transcript to a university in my home city because the current summer course has not ended yet and I would prefer to send the transcript as early as possible.
