Petition Letter: Hi there

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to formally request an extension of the deadline to drop my course, ASTR 101, for the Winter semester. Unfortunately, I have been dealing with unforeseen family issues that have significantly impacted my ability to focus on my academic responsibilities over the past few weeks.

Due to the nature of these circumstances, I was unable to initiate the course withdrawal process before the official deadline. I am now in a position to resume handling my academic affairs and respectfully request your consideration in allowing me to drop the course past the deadline without academic penalty.
