Petition Letter: April 23, 2025
To the Associate Dean,
I am writing to request to have DRAM419 (W2024) be officially removed from my Transcript.
My professor, Dr. Thea Fitz-James, and I mutually agreed in the Winter 2024 semester that dropping this class, which is not essential to my degree requirements, would be the best option after discussing my circumstances, which are as follows:
I was overextended in working on things relevant to my professional development including a professional opportunity I had received, and we were both aware that with my ADHD neurodiversity, I have a tendency to attempt to expand my learning pursuits too ambitiously without effectively gauging the limitations in time or physical capacity that are demanded by these ambitions.
While I was exceptionally fascinated by learning from Thea about performance art and frustrated that my larger circumstances presented me with limitations, Thea helped me to understand that my health, degree requirements, and professional commitments were the priorities over this course that I wished I could complete. Thea and I agreed that I should drop her course to carefully prioritize my professional development and focus on my degree requirements for the sake of my physical and mental health.
Thea graciously advised me to include in this letter that she should be contacted to approve this Petition. Her contact information is as follows:

Thank you very much for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Victoria J Marmulak
