Petition Letter: Dear Petition Committee,
I am writing to respectfully request a review of the grading for my final examination in CISC 223. I received only 69 for the final.. I believe that extenuating academic circumstances beyond my control — namely the structure of the course, the design and grading of the final exam, and the lack of academic support — significantly impacted my academic performance in this course.
Throughout my whole journey at Queen's, I maintained an excellent academic record across my other computing courses, consistently achieving all A+ grades. In contrast, my final grade in CISC 223 was substantially lower, despite applying the same level of commitment and preparation. After reviewing my performance and discussing with peers and teaching assistants, it became clear that the issues in this course were systemic.
