Petition Letter

Petition Letter: Dear Petition Committee,

I am writing on behalf of a group of students to respectfully request a review of the grading for the CISC 223 final examination. Extenuating academic circumstances beyond students' control — including the structure of the course, the design and grading of the final exam, and a lack of academic support — have had a significant negative impact on academic performance in this course.

Throughout the semester, many students maintained excellent academic records across their other computing courses, consistently achieving A or A+ grades. In contrast, performance in CISC 223 dropped markedly, despite students applying the same level of commitment and preparation. After discussing experiences among peers and teaching assistants, it has become evident that systemic issues within the course delivery contributed to this outcome.
