Petition Letter: Dear University Student Appeal Board,
This letter is to support my appeal to drop ENGL 100 Summer 2015. Due to my daily work/family schedule in June and July, I knew I would not be able to continue this course to the best of my abilities. I chose to drop the course on June 23 at approximately 11:30pm. I followed the procedures to drop the course and it followed through. I did not check my SOLUS until July 14 as I was on vacation from June 25 - July 1 and was very busy with balancing my research position at the University of Toronto and volunteering for the Pan Am Games. To my concern, SOLUS still said I was enrolled into ENGL 100. I proceeded to contact Dr. Robert May to which he responded to re-directing me to Continuing and Distance Studies. The CDS department then redirected me to apply for an appeal. I did not want to drop the course right now just in case it would be placed on my file with academic penalty. I am willing to accept a financial penalty but would like this course dropped immediately without academic penalty even though I followed the correct procedures to dropping a course on SOLUS. Please let me know if any kind of evidence is needed for the process. Thank you for reading my appeal and I hope the process proceeds smoothly.
