Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,
I am seeking to enroll in PSYC 251 - Developmental Psychology for the summer 2025 term. I have approval from the course instructor, Kyla Mayne.
I am pursuing a double major in Computing and Psychology on an accelerated courseload, and being able to take Developmental this summer will be hugely beneficial for managing the workload next year. I was on the waitlist, but unfortunately not enough people dropped before the deadline. I am seeking to enroll now that there are seats available.
I am very willing to take the extra time to catch up with my classmates for the missed first week of material and believe it will not negatively impact my performance in the course.

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: My professor has informed me of the class structure and the next assignment, which is a discussion post based on the first week of material. If my petition is approved, I will take the required time this week to catch up on missed material so I can provide a meaningful submission and be on track for the rest of the upcoming semester.
I am currently enrolled in a Computing plan and will be applying for an upper year transfer to a Psychology plan at the end of the month. I have taken all required prerequisites for the course, and the course is required for the plan I wish to switch into. If taken this summer, I will be able to take 5 courses in the Fall semester instead of 6 to graduate on time.
I have no incomplete work from previous sessions. I am currently taking PHAR 100 and PSYC 570 (directed research). If approved I plan to drop PHAR 100 and continue with PSYC 251 and 570. I am not currently working.
Although I will need to devote additional hours this and next week to catch up with missed material, I foresee no barriers that will prevent me from doing so. I believe I will be fully caught up with my classmates by the end of next week.
