Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I am petitioning to add IDIS 173 after the academic deadline for a number of reasons. I would really like to take this course as one of my electives before I graduate because I have heard from peers that they thoroughly enjoyed the class and I am interested in the course description. I am going into my fifth year of Kinesiology here at Queen's and I have attempted to enroll in this course every semester since third year, but have been unsuccessful. There are restrictions placed on enrollment due to seats being reserved for a different faculty than what I am in. Every semester, I attempt to enroll the day that the course begins, but I end up getting placed on the waiting list and do not get in. I figured that enrolling in the summer would increase my chances, but was still unsuccessful. I would like to take this course before I graduate, however, I do not believe I will be successful in enrolling throughout the next school year and I am unsure if it will fit into my course selection for next school year as well. This summer 2025 semester might be my last chance to enroll in this course, so I am taking the time to petition to add the course after the academic deadline.
