Petition Letter

Petition Letter: Dear Sirs,

This is Hong Rui Mu, and I am a 3rd year life science student. I hope all is well, and I am writing to ask for permission to enroll in IDIS 373 for this Summer term.

I was waitlisted for IDIS 373; however, since the add deadline has passed, the waitlist was purged. I am keen to take the course this summer, and I remain committed to joining it if at all possible; thus, I am wondering if you would be willing to grant permission for my late enrolment. I have already obtained permission from the instructor, Professor Cline, confirming that she supports my joining the class at this time.

Thank you for considering my request, and I appreciate your help in this matter.

Regards,
Hong Rui Mu

Academic Plan

Academic Plan: Should my petition be granted, I will immediately dedicate my time to catch up on the course by viewing module contents, assigned readings, and completing any outstanding assignments. Because my current summer load is only 6 units, adding this 3 units course will bring me to a 9 units semester, an intensity I have managed in past terms. I have already made a detailed study timetable and plan that allocates extra hours to ensure I stay ahead of deadlines, and I will fully engage with all course components, whether they are live zoom sessions, recorded lectures, or discussion boards, so I could reinforce key concepts as they are introduced.. Throughout the term I will make use of the virtual office hours for content clarification and will consult an academic advisor if any unforeseen challenges arise. These steps, together with my study routine and time management practices, will allow me to meet all course objectives and maintain my overall academic performance.
