Petition Letter
Petition Letter: I am writing to express my concern regarding my application to the Health Studies specialization program, specifically in relation to my performance in HLTH 101.
As part of my application, I understand there are specific grade requirements for the program. However, I believe there is an issue that has significantly impacted my ability to meet those requirements. Due to the recent strike, the grading for HLTH 101 was limited to the first five weeks of assignments, which did not include the final essay that was worth a substantial portion of the grade and the rest of the 12 weeks of discussion posts.
I want to emphasize that I worked very hard throughout the course and was expecting my final grade to reflect my consistent effort over all twelve weeks. Had the strike not occurred, I am confident that my final grade would have met the program’s threshold, as all of my other courses were fully graded after the strike. I maintain a GPA of 3.4 and have received A’s and B’s in all my courses, which reflects my academic dedication.
Given these circumstances, I am requesting that my grade be reconsidered, taking into account the impact the strike had on the grading process for HLTH 101. I am very passionate about pursuing this specialization and would deeply appreciate any understanding or accommodations you could provide.
I have previously reached out via email but have yet to receive a response. I would greatly appreciate your prompt attention to this matter, as the application deadline is fast approaching.
