Petition Letter

Petition Letter: 1.) This letter is to express my request to replace my current mark of F with a 3.0 credit unit. I am writing to formally request a reassessment of my final grade in KNPE 167, in which I received a failing mark. I would like to appeal for a credit (CR) in place of the F, due to the exceptional and unforeseen circumstances that affected the last month of the term.

The teaching assistant strike significantly disrupted the learning environment and support system in the course. During this critical time, no TA support was available to provide guidance or feedback, and no new work was expected to be submitted or evaluated. Despite this, it appears that some assessments were later marked, including work I had not completed or submitted under the assumption that no further evaluation would occur during the strike.

This situation placed me at a strong disadvantage, and I believe my final grade does not accurately reflect my efforts or potential under normal circumstances. I am committed to my academic progress and respectfully request that this context be considered in evaluating my appeal for a credit standing.

Thank you for your time and understanding.

Sincerely,

Kilian Le Coze-Oliveros.

2.)I am writing to formally request a review of the term work for KNPE 125, specifically regarding the Unit 2 test and how its weight was redistributed in my final grade.

Earlier in the term, I was unable to write the Unit 2 test due to illness and submitted a doctor’s note as documentation. After discussing the situation with my professor, I was informed that the 20% weight of the test would be redistributed across my other term assessments since I could not complete it.

However, I ended the course with a final grade of D+, which raises concerns that the redistribution may not have been accurately applied. Given the significant weight of that test, I believe this outcome may not reflect my actual performance. I am therefore requesting either a reassessment of how the 20% was redistributed or the opportunity to complete the Unit 2 test.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Kilian Le Coze-Oliveros.
