Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,

My name is Evan McIntyre (20236228), and I am writing to submit a first-level petition to request an additional three credits on a Letter of Permission, beyond the six-credit limit that I have reached.

I am currently a fifth-year Bachelor of Arts (honours) student who does not reside in Kingston, and I have completed all core degree requirements, with only three elective credits left to graduate. Unfortunately, all remote summer courses at Queens are at capacity, which leaves me without an internal option to complete my degree before fall graduation.

Due to these extenuating circumstances, I am requesting an exception to the six-credit limit on Letter of Permission courses, as completing my final course through an external university would allow me to fulfill my degree requirements in a timely manner to avoid delaying my graduation, and to facilitate the progression of my academic career.

To this end, I am currently enrolled in Math 215 - Introduction to Statistics at Athabasca University as a prerequisite for a future graduate program, and I would greatly appreciate it if this course could be recognized towards my degree.
