Petition Letter

Petition Letter: To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing to respectfully request a petition for my requirement to withdraw from the Faculty of Arts and Science for one year due to medical reasons. I will submit medical documentation along with this letter. I am an international student and had difficulty managing my healthcare during my first year at Queens University.
I am confident that I can continue my studies in the fall semester of 2025. I currently have an action plan going forward. I am taking two summer courses and plan on following my prescribed medical treatment that I discussed with my physician when I arrived back in New York after the spring semester. I have recently begun to utilize the resources Queen's University has to provide. I have been reaching out to academic advisors and therapists within the last few months and have gained confidence in my ability to go forward in academics.
I am eager to return to my studies and take full responsibility for not keeping up with my medical needs, but pledge to fully commit to doing so in the future.

Sincerely,
Emily Smith

Academic Plan

Academic Plan: I am currently enrolled in two summer courses. I now have routine sessions with a therapist and plan to discuss medication with my doctor going forward. I plan to continue to utilize the resources that Queens University provides such as academic advising to ensure I would have a sufficient course load going forward. I would also utilize peer tutoring to help keep high grades.

I am confident that these steps will help me to achieve my goal of improving my overall GPA and maintaining my health.
