Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I am writing to formally request a late withdrawal from the STAM 200 I am currently taking alongside Psych 100 during the summer term. When I registered, I did not realize that Statistics would span the full duration of the summer session with the same level of academic intensity as a regular-term course. This oversight has made it extremely difficult to manage both courses simultaneously while working a full-time job. Despite my best intentions and efforts, I’ve found myself stretched far too thin. I literally do not have enough time in the day to thoroughly study and engage with the material for both courses. The workload has become overwhelming and is affecting my ability to maintain the level of academic focus I strive for. I deeply regret not taking my full-time job into account when planning to take two summer courses and acknowledge that my schedule is now beyond what I can realistically manage. I care deeply about my academic success and well-being, and I believe that withdrawing from Statistics is the most responsible choice at this point. I hope you will accept my petition and grant the late drop with understanding and compassion.
