Petition Letter

Petition Letter: Hello, My name is Sarp Aygen. I am requesting CR in these courses because I have had a very unfortunate event happen to me during my grade 12 year of my high school year which affected my academic performance during my first year of university and still affects me to this day. My father passed away a year and a half ago which affected my mental state deeply. It had only been a few months since my fathers passing when I started attending Queens and I still had not recovered from the trauma that had caused me which affected my ability to perform in my first year classes. I couldn't concentrate on any of my classes and most days at university I couldn't even sleep because the only thing I had in my mind was my father. Me and him had been very close all my life he was my inspiration, so losing him and then moving away on my own for my first year of university took a very deep toll on me. During my first year I also had to deal with a lot of internal family affairs because of my fathers passing which caused me to miss some of my lectures impacting my ability to perform even further. I took many steps in order to try to deal with the grief including talking to family and friends and going to therapy but none of them seemed to help me. Any time I was in my lectures I couldn't concentrate because it was like my mind was somewhere else and the same goes for my tests and exams. Doing my assignments for classes also felt the same it seemed like no matter what I did my mind would just end up thinking about my father. The stress and the trauma it caused me affected my first year studies and academic performance greatly.
