Petition Letter: I am writing this letter in order to waive the 21-day deadline that in is place for appealing the decision requiring me to withdraw. I¿¿m requesting for the appeal deadline to be waived so that I can appeal for my requirement to withdraw.
The reason for my asking to waive the deadline date is simple enough and I do strongly consider it to be an extenuating circumstance which has prevented me from appealing my withdraw requirement at an earlier date.
For most of the time that I¿¿ve been a student at Queen¿¿s University I¿¿ve had troubles receiving emails that were sent to my ¿¿@queensu.ca¿ email. That being said, I have tried alternate measures to receive emails but nothing has ever fixed my ongoing issue.
Unfortunately this issue has now affected my process for appealing the decision requiring me to withdraw as the email that was sent out to notify me that I was required to withdraw was dated in May and I hadn¿¿t received the email to my inbox until August 3rd. With that in mind, as soon as I received the email notifying me that I was required to withdraw I immediately acted to appeal the decision. Additionally, had I not experienced problems receiving the email in question, I would have absolutely appealed the decision within the required timeframe as it would make no sense for me to actually wait until the deadline is passed to appeal the decision.
I am hoping that this unfavorable technological difficulty can be viewed as an extenuating circumstance which has very much prevented me from being able to appeal the decision at an earlier time. As mentioned I hadn¿¿t received any email notifications prior to August 3rd so there was nothing I was able to do before that time.
Thank you.
