Petition Letter
Petition Letter: Dear Associate Dean,
I’m writing to request a second deferral for my deferred exam in CHEM 281, which was originally scheduled for Wednesday, August 6th at 5:20pm through Proctor U.
I recently returned from out of the country and, unfortunately, have become significantly ill in the days following my return. I’m experiencing worsening symptoms, which would have significantly affected my ability to write this exam. I have seen a doctor and attached a doctor’s note that confirms my inability to attend.
I’ve already let the course instructor, John Carran, know about my situation, and he suggested what the next steps might be for making up the final exam at a later time. I understand I have previously needed to defer assessments because of health issues, and I don’t take this request, nor my academics, lightly. As I would not be further deferring this exam if it were not necessary.
I appreciate your understanding and consideration of my request. If there is anything further needed from me, I will be happy to cooperate.
Thank you,
Omar Hassan
