Petition Letter: Hi there,


I am writing to respectfully request an Aegrotat Standing (AG) for my deferred midyear exam in MATH 121 due to ongoing extenuating circumstances that have prevented me from completing the final requirement of the course.

Earlier this year, I was granted a deferral for my MATH 121 midyear exam due to personal challenges. At that time, I was confident that with additional time, I would be able to complete the exam. However, since then, my situation has unfortunately worsened. Ongoing family and personal challenges, including a legal matter with my property management company, have significantly affected my health, focus, and overall ability to prepare. Despite my best efforts, the stress and impact of these circumstances have made it impossible for me to adequately recover the stability needed to complete the deferred exam.

I have completed the majority of the work for this course and believe that my performance throughout the term reflects my understanding of the material. However, due to circumstances entirely beyond my control, I am unable to complete the midyear exam. I understand that my instructor has been supportive of my situation, and I am very grateful for her understanding and compassion. She has supported me throughout this entire process and ensured that I felt support while dealing with these ongoing personal challenges.

I respectfully request that an Aegrotat Standing be granted for MATH 121 in recognition of the work I have completed and the extenuating circumstances that have prevented me from fulfilling the final requirement. This resolution would ensure that my academic record reflects both my effort and ability while acknowledging the impact of circumstances outside my control.
