Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Hello, my name is Sara King (ID:20417431), and I’m emailing you today in hopes to drop two previous classes from last semester(BIO 103- I’m retaking it this semester, and CISC 101) . Last year was my first year here at Queens, and I was struggling very much with ADHD at the time, but was not aware of this until I was just recently diagnosed this August. As you can see on my transcript my grades were very low, and I struggled immensely with focus. I had tried about every study method, but nothing was helping. I was very dissapointed in my grades the last two semesters especially in both Biology classes, as both were my favorite classes and I found them to be quite interesting when I could focus(which was rare). After finally being diagnosed I already feel a significant difference in my abilities to achieve my academic goals this year. I would be more than happy to get you in contact with the psychiatrist who diagnosed me, or get a note. I do not have documentation with me at this very moment, but I will contact her now and have her send it to the faculty email. I hope to hear from you soon, and thank you so much for your consideration.
