Petition Letter
Petition Letter: To Whom It May Concern,
During the Fall 2024 academic term, I experienced significant medical and psychological challenges following the abrupt discontinuation of a long-term medication. This led to a relapse of symptoms, including depression, impaired focus, and cognitive disruption, that seriously impacted my academic performance.
These health issues directly contributed to the decline in my work in some courses, particularly RELS 284 and ENGL 296, where my grades do not reflect my usual level of commitment or ability. My doctor, Dr. Abhishek Raut (letter attached), has confirmed the severity and timing of these challenges.
I am requesting that this context be considered in evaluating my petition. I remain committed to my studies and have taken steps to stabilize my health to ensure future academic success.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Maya Vlasis
