Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Good afternoon,

I am looking to drop FILM250 as the course requires extra fees that I do not have the money to spend on right now, and the course is not related to my program, I was going to take it as an elective. I had called the student services firsr and they forwarded me the ArtSci email to drop the course, as I needed permission from my department and couldn't do it through solus. I later got a response saying ArtSci cannot drop it for me, and instead the Film department had to. I had emailed them prior to the drop period ending but they did not get back to me early enough, and it had already closed. I have taken a different elective instead, and cannot afford to pay the fees that are required for Film, as many of my mandatory Geology courses already require me to spend additional money.
