Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: To the Faculty Petitions Committee,

I am writing to respectfully petition for consideration regarding my enrollment in CISC 203.

At the beginning of the term, I was originally enrolled in Professor Salomaa’s section of CISC 203. However, due to scheduling considerations, I attempted to switch into the other section of the course and joined the waitlist. I was actively monitoring the waitlist and had reached second position, which gave me hope that I would be able to secure a spot. Unfortunately, the enrollment deadline passed just before I attempted to switch back into Professor Salomaa’s class. As a result, I am now unable to register for any section of CISC 203 this term.

This situation has directly affected my academic progress because CISC 203 is a required course for my program of study. The timing of the registration deadline, combined with my position on the waitlist, created circumstances beyond my control that have prevented me from securing a seat in the course.

I kindly request that the Committee allow me to re-enroll in Professor Salomaa’s section, or otherwise make accommodations for me to continue in CISC 203 this term. I believe this solution would enable me to stay on track with my academic requirements and avoid unnecessary delay in my studies.
