Petition Letter: Hello there!
I am writing to you to express my interest towards enrolling in the DRAM 100A course. I would like the opportunity to do so as I feel that this course better aligns with my needs.
The courses I am switching out for DRAM 100A are POLS 111 and POLS 112 (in the winter semester), as I understand that DRAM 100A is an A and B course. By doing so, I feel that it will help a lot with my anxiety. Since I have begun attending the POLS 111 lectures and tutorials, I have noticed that the course is not the right fit for me. The readings and assignments have caused me a lot of anxiety, and I feel that the DRAM 100A course will better suit me. I am interested in minoring in Drama as well, so this class will give me the start I need. I would like to enroll in the lecture class 3807 (Thursday 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm) and the laboratory class 3819 (Wednesday 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm), and have confirmed that these times work with my existing schedule. I have spoken to the professor of DRAM 100A and was permitted to attend the class if my petition is approved.
I hope that under these circumstances, my petition may be approved and I may proceed forward to entering the DRAM 100A course.

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: Moving forward in the DRAM 100A course, I plan to focus on what is most important first, rather than worrying about other things like assignments and readings in advance.
Taking the DRAM 100A course would not only benefit me academically, but also personally. I feel as though the course will reduce my levels of anxiety, helping me work towards a minor in Drama with ease. I would like the opportunity to focus on the study of Drama to not only reach my goals, but also to set myself up for a more organized and proactive way of thinking. I will ensure that I keep myself coordinated and on track for success by taking the measures needed to reduce my anxiety, whether that is through talking to counsellors or parental figures at home, or organizing my schedule to maintain success. By following through with this plan, I believe that I will enjoy and feel more confident in the DRAM 100A course rather than POLS 111 and POLS 112. Overall, I have realized what measures I need to take in DRAM 100A that I hadn't taken in POLS 111. I am certain that this course will benefit me immensely, and I hope to progress further in bettering myself and my anxiety.
