Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Hi,
I’m a distance online DEVS student. I started at Queens in 2018, and as a professional golfer it has been great being able to study online while competing professionally.
My health has recently declined and the future of my professional golf may be coming to an end, and I’m looking to finish my degree and apply to graduate school next fall. To do so, I have to take 48 credits between now and next summer. All while continually still playing professionally while I move onto the next chapter.

I have planned out 4 courses per semester until summer, as well as 2 courses outside of Queens so that I can graduate next summer. One of the prerequisite option courses for my DEVS degree is GNDS 215, and I accidentally am currently enrolled in GNDS 125. I’m asking if there’s any way I could switch courses so that I could complete my degree faster. I am currently enrolled as a wait list for my winter option course as 15th. In case that doesn’t pan out, I really need to know that I have all the sufficient requirements to graduate so I can apply to graduate school.

I would really appreciate any consideration to transfer me into GNDS 215. I’m so close to finishing my online degree and I would not want one option course to hold me back from finishing!
