Petition Letter: Dear Associate Dean,
I am writing this petition to request your permission for me to add a course to my schedule past the deadline. I would like to join PSYC 336 with Dr. Kate Harkness. Unfortunately, I remained 2nd on the waitlist up until the deadline on September 15th. As there is now one open seat on Solus as of now, I hope my request to join will not be an issue in terms of course capacity constraints.
My position in PSYC 336 is greatly important to me as my future academic and career goals involve this particular subject, adult clinical psychology. As a result, I am committed to giving this course my full attention and am determined to succeed. I aim to learn the key concepts from PSYC 336 and apply them to my projected clinical psychology courses in my 4th year here at Queen's, and during my Masters further down the line.
My supporting documents include screenshots of my position on the waitlist for PSYC 336 less than 24 hours prior to the deadline, and an email from Dr. Harkness stating that she would express her support for my petition to join upon request.
I would like to express my gratitude for your both your time and consideration for my request. I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: I plan to join PSYC 336 and maintain regular attendance to both lectures and office hours when needed in order to ensure I am gaining the most from this course. I plan to dedicate my time to thoroughly studying for and completing the required assessments to the best of my ability, and with success to maintain/raise my current GPA of 3.66. I then plan to take this information into my 4th year of studies focusing on clinical psychology, and to build off of this material during my post graduate studies. My goal is to become a clinical psychologist, so I can assure that my spot in this course will be critical to my success down the line.
