Petition Letter
Petition Letter: I am appealing to drop both POLS 250 and POLS 243. I fell ill during Thanksgiving 2012 and returned home to Calgary for medical treatment and withdrew from all of my courses for the 2012-2013 school year.
In September 2013 I returned to Queen¿¿s and on the advice of my medical team I re-enrolled in POLS 243 and POLS 250 as a reduced course load for the 2013-2014 school year. The severe fatigue along with a significantly reduced ability to concentrate and focus meant that reading and synthesizing academic materials was prohibitively difficult which rendered producing academic papers impossible. I then appealed to have the deadline extended and have worked on completing the written assignments but my health is not such that I can complete these courses at this time.
My medical team, which has spent the last three years monitoring and assisting with my recovery have advised me to cease my attempts on these courses.
