Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Hello,

I am writing this petition for the approval to drop a class past it's deadline. The class I am wishing to drop is IDIS 199.

The reason I was unable to drop the class on time was due to extenuating circumstances regarding hearing back from academic advisory and the professor of the class.
Earlier in the course, I had issues regarding assignment submission that unfortunately could not be attended to by the course professors, which then lead me to emailing academic advisory for advice regarding the course

Following my email, I decided not to drop the course immediately as I was going to wait until getting advice from academic advisory before making any major decisions.

What lead to my problem was academic advisory delaying my meeting for over a week straight, going past the drop deadline. I was unaware of the deadline to begin with, so I didn't realize that it would be a problem until now.
If I had the meeting at it's intended date, I would have been able to take action on the course, and not be in my current situation.

I hope there is some way for this to be fixed.
