My name is Jennifer Adu Gyamfi, and I am a second-year student in Global Development Studies (Student ID: 20490630). I am writing to formally request an Incomplete (INC) grade for the following Fall 2025 courses:
ENGL 100
PHIL 259
Prior to the onset of my health challenges in high school, I was a highly concentrated student. Despite the sustained difficulties in managing my condition, I was able to successfully complete three of my five Fall 2025 courses. This demonstrates my overall diligence and commitment to my studies.
The difficulties I faced critically interfered with my ability to meet the demanding requirements for the final assessments in ENGL 100 and PHIL 259, which are the most time- and concentration-intensive components of my course load.
The severe health instability that began with a disruptive medication change in June 2025 (detailed in my concurrent Summer course petition) persisted into the Fall semester. The side effects continued to cause unpredictable periods of extreme fatigue, severe headaches, and debilitating cognitive impairment which directly impacted my ability to prepare for and execute complex tasks like final essays and term papers.
My physician’s documentation explains how my epileptic condition contributed to this behaviour and fully justifies the resulting inability to perform sustained, focused academic work during the critical final weeks of the semester.
I regret that due to the novelty and severity of these symptoms and my unawareness of resources, I did not register for accommodations sooner. However, I proactively submitted my information to Ventus in early October 2025, and I have since connected with Toni Thorton, who has been instrumental in assisting me. I am now fully committed to utilizing these supports going forward.
I am prepared and committed to successfully completing these courses once my health is sufficiently stabilized. I respectfully request an Incomplete (INC) grade with a deadline of January 10th, 2026. The outstanding work is as follows
