Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: This semester has very much challenged me since I have had to spend a lot of time helping my mother to take care of my stepfather who has brain cancer. This has rendered me unable to attend a ton of classes and has hindered my learning and marks enough that I must drop this course. I feel that there is no way I can pass it since my final is worth 80% (due to midterm failure for the same circumstances) and I have been at home helping the last two weeks, unable to study. As this class is heavy on in class content and quizzes I have missed almost everything important to write the final and pass this course. I don't think this semester shows my capabilities as a student and I would appreciate a chance at doing it with full strength next year.
