Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I am submitting this petition to request a late drop from CISC365 due to extenuating circumstances related to my mental health that negatively affected my academic performance.

Partway through the term, I experienced ongoing mental health difficulties that were beyond my control. These issues impacted my ability to concentrate, manage coursework effectively, and keep up with the demands of this class. As a result, my performance in this course declined despite my efforts to continue engaging with the material and completing required work.

The effects of these circumstances were sustained over several weeks and directly interfered with my ability to meet the academic expectations of the course. Continuing in the course under these conditions was not manageable and risked further impact on my academic standing and well-being.

For these reasons, I am requesting permission to drop this course. This decision was made after careful consideration and with the intention of stabilizing my situation and continuing my studies more effectively moving forward.
