Petition Letter: To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to submit a petition requesting consideration of my academic performance due to extenuating health-related circumstances beyond my control during the academic term.
Throughout the semester, particularly during Semester 1, I experienced ongoing health issues that required me to leave campus early on multiple occasions. These circumstances significantly affected my ability to attend classes consistently, keep up with course material, and adequately prepare for major assessments. As a result, my academic performance during this period does not accurately reflect my capabilities or effort.
I had arranged to retake my midterm examination, which was originally written in December. Unfortunately, I was unable to attend the scheduled retake because I had a previously arranged out-of-town medical appointment on the same day. This appointment was necessary to address my ongoing health concerns and could not be rescheduled. Missing this retake had a substantial negative impact on my final course outcome.
My grade in this course has been drastically affected by the missed midterm assessment. I am concerned about failing or being required to drop the course due to circumstances that were beyond my control and directly related to my health. I have remained committed to my studies and have taken steps to manage my health responsibly. However, the timing and persistence of these circumstances limited my ability to recover academically within the term.
I respectfully ask that my documented extenuating circumstances be taken into consideration when reviewing my academic record. Thank you for your time and understanding.
