Petition Letter: Dear associate Dean Naaman

I am writing to formally request approval to make a change to my course schedule despite the deadline having passed. I understand the importance of academic deadlines and would not be making this request unless there were significant and genuine circumstances affecting my ability to act earlier. Over the past few weeks, I have been dealing with a prolonged illness that substantially impacted my ability to manage coursework, administrative tasks, and email correspondence. During this period, I unintentionally missed an important email for approximately one week, which I initially believed had not been sent. Had I seen this message when it was first received, I would have been able to address the issue and request the change well before the deadline. In addition, my current schedule includes a specific course whose structure and time demands would negatively affect my performance in two other classes. I believe that adjusting my course enrolment now would allow me to perform more effectively and responsibly across all remaining courses. I fully acknowledge responsibility for monitoring my communications and meeting deadlines, and I regret that these circumstances led to a delayed request. However, I respectfully ask that you consider the combination of my health issues, the resulting lapse in communication, and the academic impact of my current schedule as grounds for an exception.
