Petition Letter

Petition Letter: I am writing to formally petition for consideration regarding my academic performance during the recent term. The basis of this petition is a set of extenuating circumstances beyond my control, specifically a knee surgery and the subsequent physical and psychological challenges I experienced during recovery.

The surgery took place early in the term, exactly August 20th and the recovery process extended over several months. During this time, I experienced significant physical limitations, including restricted mobility and persistent discomfort, which made it difficult to attend classes consistently and fully engage in course requirements. In addition to the physical impact, the recovery period also affected my mental health. I experienced increased stress, frustration, and periods of low motivation, which further impaired my ability to focus on academic responsibilities.

These circumstances directly impacted my academic performance. I struggled to complete assignments on time, had difficulty preparing adequately for evaluations, and was not able to perform to my usual standard across multiple courses. The combination of physical recovery and mental health challenges created a situation where I was unable to manage my workload effectively despite my intentions.

In response to these challenges, I took steps to address both my physical and mental health. I followed medical guidance for my rehabilitation and engaged in exercises to regain strength and mobility. Additionally, I made efforts to manage my mental health by seeking support from those around me and working to re-establish a stable routine as my recovery progressed.

I respectfully request that my situation be considered in light of these extenuating circumstances. The effects of my surgery and the associated mental health challenges were significant and directly contributed to the decline in my academic performance during this period. I am now in a much improved condition and am committed to returning to my usual academic standards.

Thank you for your time and consideration
