Petition Letter: To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to formally request a credit standing in PHGY 216 for the Winter term.
My studies during winter term at Queens were significantly impacted by the TA strike that occurred. In particular, the disruption led to changes in the course assessment structure, including a modification to the final exam format. The original format included a written component which aligns more closely with my learning style and would have allowed me to better demonstrate my understanding of the material. The revised format limited my ability to perform to my usual standard.
Additionally, delays in receiving graded work left me uncertain of my standing in the course and prevented me from making an informed decision about whether to withdraw before the deadline.
These circumstances were beyond my control and had a direct impact on my performance in this course. Given this, I respectfully request consideration for a credit standing. This would help ensure that my academic record more accurately reflects my abilities and allow me to remain on track with my degree requirements.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I would be happy to provide any additional information or documentation if needed.
Sincerely,
Sydney Pascoe
