Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I experienced significant family difficulty during the Winter Semester of 2024, which led me to drop all courses and take the year off during 2025. I experienced significant emotional and occasionally physical abuse from my mother, which ultimately led me to cut her off, and take some time to repair my mental health, recover, and reconnect with other members of my family that I was isolated from.
When dropping all courses for the year, I successfully dropped all, but seemed to have not clicked this specific art history course. I only noticed it recently, when I submitted my previous petition to take courses on LOP.
Through this time I remained in contact and had appointments with Pamela Hall from Queens Mental Health Services. I am currently awaiting her letter to upload it to this request.
I chose to take the time off due to extenuating mental health difficulties, and the fail on my transcript for this course impacts my cgpa.
I intended to drop this course along with all the others, but I seemed mistakenly not, and am therefore requesting that this course is withdrawn from similar to all the others from that year.
