Petition Letter: Hello there. My name is Amelie Fairhurst and I am writing this letter to explain my grades and why I would like to petition for my Psyc 100 grade to be removed. Throughout the year I have had a difficult time focusing as my grandmother was very sick for all of first semester and then passed during the beginning of second semester. Her and I were extremely close and would call often. Unfortunately she lived all the way in Germany which made the stress of the circumstances very hard on me. I was constantly anxious not knowing what was going to happen next. I began having these really bad panic attacks and although I was struggling first semester, second semester became much worse as my grades began to plummet and I did not know what to do or who to ask for help. Being so far from my family, I felt as though I had nobody to talk to and began isolating from everyone. I became very depressed after the passing of my grandmother and it took a toll on my grades and my mental health.
