Petition Letter
Petition Letter: To the Petitions Committee,
I am writing to respectfully request consideration for enrolment in HLTH 101 despite missing the enrolment deadline. From May 1st to May 7th, 2026, I was in Panama participating in a volunteer initiative with Queen’s Business Brigades. During this trip, I was working in rural communities where access to reliable internet and communication services was extremely limited and inconsistent.
As a result, I was unable to properly monitor university deadlines or complete the necessary enrolment steps within the required timeframe. The circumstances were beyond my control, as the nature of the volunteer work and location significantly restricted access to online services needed to manage academic matters remotely.
This course is important to my academic planning and progression, and I would not have intentionally missed the deadline had I been in a position to access the required systems. Upon returning to Canada and regaining reliable internet access, I acted promptly to address the issue and submit this request.
I respectfully ask that the missed enrolment deadline be waived and that I be permitted to enrol in HLTH 101 for Summer 2026. Thank you for your time and consideration of my petition.
Sincerely,
Noah Clancy

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: I am currently behind by 3.0 credits due to poor academic performance during the first semester of my first year. Being permitted to enrol in HLTH 101 during Summer 2026 would help me get back on track academically and remain aligned with my degree progression requirements.
Since first year, I have taken steps to improve my academic performance by becoming more organized with deadlines, planning my course schedule more carefully, and balancing extracurricular commitments with academics more effectively. Moving forward, I intend to continue prioritizing my coursework and ensuring that I remain aware of all important academic deadlines, particularly when travelling or participating in extracurricular activities.
Successfully completing this course would support my long-term academic goals and help me continue progressing toward my degree requirements on schedule.
