Petition Letter

Petition Letter: Due to ongoing personal circumstances this past academic year, I have experienced difficulty determining my academic direction and long-term planning. As a result, I was unable to register for the required PHGY 215 and PHGY 216 courses before the academic deadline.

More recently, after carefully reassessing my academic and career goals, I realized these courses are necessary for my intended path and future studies. Taking PHGY 215 and 216 during the summer term is especially important because my upcoming academic year is already heavily scheduled with required courses, leaving little flexibility to complete these prerequisites later without delaying my academic progress.

I understand the importance of academic deadlines and take responsibility for not addressing this sooner. However, the personal challenges I was managing significantly affected my ability to make timely academic decisions and properly organize my course planning. I respectfully request consideration for permission to enroll despite the deadline so that I may remain on track academically.

Note, since my personal circumstances involves other members of my family, I am not able to obtain documentation due to confidentiality, but I have gotten support from the course instructor.

Academic Plan

Academic Plan: Now that I have established a clearer long-term academic and career plan, and the personal circumstances that affected me have begun to improve, I am committed to catching up on any missed work and having a strong academic performance. To ensure success, I have begun creating structured schedules and personal academic goals to stay organized and manage my workload effectively.

In addition, I have planning my upcoming course schedule to ensure that required prerequisite courses are completed on time and that I remain on track academically. Taking PHGY 215 and PHGY 216 during the summer term is an important part of this plan, as it will allow me to manage my full course load next year more effectively and avoid any delays in my academic progression.

I am confident that the steps I am taking now will better support my academic success and help me maintain stronger planning and time management habits in the future.
