Petition Letter
Petition Letter: To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to respectfully petition for permission to add MATH 121 after the enrollment deadline.
During the period in which I would have needed to enroll in the course, I experienced a significant illness that required close medical monitoring for approximately two weeks. Throughout this time, I was largely confined to bed and was unable to participate in academic activities or manage important administrative responsibilities related to my studies.
It was during this same two-week period that I became aware that I would need to retake MATH 121. Due to the severity of my illness and its impact on my ability to function academically and personally, I was unable to add the course before the deadline passed.
The circumstances were beyond my control and directly affected my ability to complete the enrollment process within the required timeframe. Since recovering, I have taken steps to return to my academic responsibilities and am now seeking permission to enroll in the course as soon as possible so that I may remain on track academically.
Thank you very much for your time and consideration of my petition. I appreciate the opportunity to explain the circumstances surrounding this request and am happy to provide any supporting documentation if required.
Sincerely,
Skye Spilberg

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: My illness was temporary, and I have since recovered and returned to my normal academic functioning. If my petition is granted, my plan is to immediately enroll in and complete MATH 121 during the current term in order to remain on track academically and strengthen my understanding of the course material.
To support my academic success moving forward, I plan to maintain a structured study schedule and stay proactive with course deadlines and administrative responsibilities. I also intend to make greater use of academic supports available to me, including office hours, tutoring resources, and regular communication with instructors when needed.
During my illness, my ability to manage academic and enrollment responsibilities was significantly impacted. Since recovering, I have been able to re-engage fully with my coursework and academic planning. I am committed to staying organized and addressing any academic concerns early to prevent similar issues from affecting my studies in the future.
Successfully completing MATH 121 is important for my academic progression, and being permitted to enroll in the course will help me continue toward my academic goals without unnecessary delay.
