Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: To Whom It May Concern,

I am submitting this petition to request approval for a Late Course Add for the Summer 2026 term.

Earlier in the term, I made adjustments to my summer course enrollment while managing my academic planning and schedule. At the time, I did not fully understand the impact that dropping a course would have on my total summer unit requirements and full-time status.

Following this change, I was continuing to organize my academic schedule and assumed I was still meeting the necessary requirements. It was only later, during a more detailed review of my course load and academic standing, that I realized I would fall below the required 3.0-unit full-time status.

As soon as I became aware of this issue, I immediately took steps to resolve it by reviewing available courses and contacting instructors for permission to join a course late. I am now submitting this petition as soon as I was able to act on the situation.

I understand the importance of academic deadlines and take responsibility for not identifying the issue earlier. If approved, I am fully prepared to catch up on any missed material and complete the course successfully.
