My name is Sarena Sandhu. I was intending to sign up for the ENGL 100 course for summer semester. Unfortunately, a week and an half ago my uncle got a change in his cancer diagnosis giving him a limited amount of time to live (less than a year). As such, I have spent the last week helping my mother and father with organizing their work schedules, my brothers school schedule, and requesting my own time off from work to be able to visit. Furthermore, I am now in transit to see him. I apologize for missing the deadline. I have made the first steps to get an English tutor, who I will get help catching up from, provided that the petition is approved. I am very sorry for the inconvenience and delay in contacting the university as well as signing up for the course. I am committed to catching up and completing this course provided the opportunity.

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: My academic plan is that I have asked for an additional week off of work to allow me to catch up on missed content. Furthermore, I have already spoken to a tutor who I will start getting help from provided I am allowed enrolment. I understand that I may be struggling with the news, so I have also contacted a mental health advisor to meet regularly to ensure I am capable of completing my course work.
