Petition Letter: REQUESTED ACTION: Manual late-add/enrolment override into EMPR 110 (Workplace Communication) and ENIN 240 (Innovation & Entrepreneurship) for the Summer 2026 term.
1. STATEMENT OF REQUEST
I am writing to formally petition for a manual override to register for EMPR 110 and ENIN 240 past the official May 8, 2026 course enrolment deadline. I have demonstrated clear, proactive intent to register prior to the deadline, which was ultimately derailed by a combination of severe medical trauma and administrative course restrictions.
2. REASON FOR MISSING THE ENROLMENT DEADLINE (MAY 8, 2026)
A. Demonstrated Pre-Deadline Intent to Register
My summer registration was not neglected. On April 29, 2026—well before the May 8th deadline—I began actively communicating with the Smith Commerce Office to register for my summer coursework (refer to attached PDF: Re: Summer Course registration).
Unfortunately, I attempted to register for COMM 200-level courses, unaware that these are strictly restricted to non-commerce students. Due to processing delays, I did not receive official clarification from Program Administrator Kate Robinson confirming that I was blocked from these courses until May 11, 2026—three days after the enrolment deadline had already passed.

Academic Plan: To ensure academic success and maintain my GPA while continuing my recovery from my April 7th motor vehicle accident, I have developed a structured, two-phase Academic Success Plan. This plan addresses both my immediate catch-up requirements and my ongoing physical rehabilitation.
Phase 1: Immediate Academic Catch-Up (Next 48–72 Hours)
Because both EMPR 110 and ENIN 240 are fully asynchronous online courses, I can adapt my study schedule dynamically around my recovery needs. My immediate steps upon enrollment will be:
Syllabus & Deadline Mapping: I will immediately download both course syllabi and map out all remaining assignment, discussion post, and quiz deadlines on a master digital calendar with automated notifications to prevent future date confusion.
The 48-Hour Study Sprint: I have cleared my personal schedule for the next two days to dedicate myself entirely to completing the Week 1 and Week 2 modules, reviewing past readings, and completing any outstanding discussion board contributions.
