Petition Letter

Petition Letter: Dear Queen’s Registrar/Academic Petitions Committee/Laura van Staalduinen,

I am writing to respectfully request permission to be added to BCHM 270 after the enrollment deadline.

I mistakenly believed that I had successfully enrolled in the course earlier this term. Unfortunately, I recently discovered that the course had remained in my shopping cart and was never officially submitted or added to my schedule. Because of this misunderstanding, I did not realize that I was not enrolled.

Part of the confusion also came from my assumption that the course would begin during the June–July session rather than the May–June session like the other two courses I am already enrolled in. As a result, I did not check my registration status as carefully as I should have before the add deadline passed.

I understand that registration deadlines are important, and I take full responsibility for this oversight. I am fully prepared to catch up on any missed coursework and participate actively in the class immediately if I am permitted to enroll. In addition, being enrolled in this course is important for maintaining my full-time course load and OSAP eligibility. Without this course, my status is affected, which would create financial and academic difficulties for me.

I respectfully ask for your consideration and approval to add this course despite the missed deadline. Taking this course is important for my academic goals, and I would greatly appreciate any accommodation you are able to provide.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
Isabella Garrido

Academic Plan

Academic Plan: Academic Plan

If permitted to enroll in BCHM 270, I will take the following steps to ensure my academic success and timely completion of the course requirements:

- Review syllabus and timeline for all missed lectures, course materials, and assignments immediately upon enrollment.
- Create a structured weekly study schedule to stay current with course content.
- Communicate with the instructor regarding any missed work and complete outstanding assignments as soon as possible.
- Use available academic supports and resources if needed to remain on track academically.

This course is important for maintaining my academic progression and full-time status for OSAP purposes. I am committed to putting in the necessary effort to successfully complete the course despite the late enrollment request.
