Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Dear Petitions Committee,

I am writing to respectfully request consideration and credit recovery for my academic performance in the history class during the fall semester. During this period, I experienced a significant psychological breakdown that severely impacted my mental stability and overall ability to function academically. As a result, I was required to take long-term academic consideration (which can be seen in my history of considerations). The psychological challenges I experienced made it extremely difficult to focus, retain information, complete coursework, and maintain consistent attendance and participation within this class. I struggled with concentration and the management daily academic responsibilities, which directly impacted my performance. These circumstances were beyond my control and persisted throughout a substantial portion of the semester. During this time, I sought support and took steps to address my mental health challenges, including consulting with appropriate healthcare professionals and following recommended treatment and recovery measures. Despite these efforts, the severity of my condition significantly limited my academic capacity during the affected period.

I respectfully ask that the committee take these extenuating circumstances into consideration when reviewing my academic record. Thank you for your time and understanding.
