Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Hello, this is a petition letter to request a reassessment of my MATH314 final exam that was written in 2026 Winter term. After reviewing my grade, I was unsatisfied about the grade I received because it did not reflect effort and confidence in the course and the expected result based on the confidence of writing the exam. I had a meeting with the instructor on May 18th to discuss about the grading, and after reviewing, I believe there may be aspects of my exam that would benefit from a second assessment. When the instructor explained about the reasonings of grading, I was concerned by the extent of the deductions across my answers on the paper. There was no grading rubrics to follow, which I found it more difficult to understand how the marks were allocated. Given the amount of work shown with mathematical methods, I believe it may warrant partial credit, and I am uncertain whether the deductions accurately reflect on my responses. My concern is not limited to a single question but rather to the consistency of deduction throughout the exam. I respectfully request a reassessment of my final exam paper. Thank you.
