Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,
My final exam in my ECON 222 course (Fall 2026) was deferred (correctly and without issues). My make-up exam was on the 22nd of May. I had an earlier exam on the 20th as well, but everything went smoothly there. The issue arose when I realized that after the 15th of May, my course on OnQ had closed (restricting my access). This led to me not being able to study for my exam. I sent an email on the 19th when nothing had changed, and didn't hear back from my professor. After my exam on the 20th, I went in person to the arts and science faculty and the exam registrar. Both of which had people attempting to help, and while nice and empathetic, they could not do anything. I have email evidence of one of these helpers attempting to help me and looking for a solution. They suggested I reach back out to my professor the next morning if I had heard nothing. The day before my exam, I sent a follow-up email, and they finally decided to respond, granting me access but giving me less than half a day to see what material would be on the exam and using the resources provided to help me study. This gave me a very unfair attempt on the day of the exam. I have email evidence of all of this and spoke to a few people in person and over the phone about this situation, and upset with how I was not able to properly prepare for this exam.
Throughout my first two years at Queens, I have worked hard and performed at a high level to create a respectable GPA for myself. I don't want the fact that I was unable to properly prepare for one of my exams due to the lack of resources at my disposal to reflect poorly on my GPA. That is why I am asking for just the credits in this course and for it not to poorly reflect my GPA.
I have no real documents from a doctor, as it would be irrelevant in this case, but I can forward all the emails that are relevant if asked to.
