Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: At the end of May 2026, I sustained a traumatic brain injury after hitting my head on a car door. After this injury occurred, I struggled heavily with ongoing symptoms. These include: trouble concentrating, intense nausea, head/neck pain, eye strain, dizziness, and vertigo. An ER doctor diagnosed me with a concussion a couple days later and I continued to check in with a physician weekly. The symptoms remained intense from the initial injury, into a few weeks later. Currently, it has been over three weeks and I am still struggling with some symptoms.
This injury and the resulting symptoms occurred during the submission period for the first assignment and midterm for PHAR 100. Accommodations were unavailable for assignment one, and I was still unable to work or study when the Midterm submission date arrived. I would like to petition for a late drop, so that I can re-enroll in the fall semester when my symptoms have subsided.
