Petition Letter: Petition to Waive the Deadline for Reconsideration of Academic Leave Due to Health Reasons

To the Academic Appeals Committee,

I respectfully submit this petition requesting a waiver of the deadline to file my reconsideration for academic leave. I understand the importance of adhering to university deadlines, and I sincerely regret that I was unable to submit my request within the required timeframe.

My delay was the direct result of significant health challenges that affected my ability to manage my academic and administrative responsibilities. During the period in which the reconsideration was due, I was experiencing medical issues that required my full attention and substantially limited my ability to complete and submit the necessary documentation. As a result, I was unable to meet the established deadline despite my intention to do so.

My circumstances were beyond my control, and the delay was not due to a lack of interest or commitment to my education. As my health has improved, I have been able to gather the required documentation and prepare this request. I have attached supporting medical documentation to verify the circumstances that prevented me from submitting my reconsideration on time.

I remain committed to my academic goals and am eager to continue my studies. I respectfully ask the Committee to consider the exceptional nature of my circumstances and grant a waiver of the filing deadline so that my reconsideration may be reviewed on its merits.
