Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I am appealing to add a course after the Add/Drop deadline this past Friday.The course I would like to add is CISC 282(Fundamentals of Web and Mobile Applications). I wanted to add this course before the Add/Drop date, but there was a hold on my account due to tuition charges for a course from the summer term. My parents told me that there was a letter from OSAP at my home in Toronto. I had thought that this letter would be outlining how much funding I would be receiving and how I could receive my funds so that I could pay for this semester. I went home to Toronto to receive this letter, with the intent to contact the Financial Office of the University and show them my intent to pay, so that I could temporarily lift the hold and add CISC 282. However the letter asked for more documentation, and I was unable to provide documentation for my finances. I have since been in contact with them, but I do not know when my funding will come through.

I was hoping to add CISC 282 now and pay for my entire slate of tuition as soon as my OSAP funding comes through. I apologize for not contacting my department earlier. I made an error in judgement, and had just thought I would be able to pay at this point. I hope my mistake does not preclude me from being able to take CISC 282 this semester.
